How To Email Large Files over Internet

Do you find that sending a large file over the internet can be a problem? Most email providers limit you to the size of file you can send so sending a GB file is out of the question.  Using cloud storage is Ok unless your internet suddenly drops in the middle and you have to start all over again.  There are several methods by which you can send large files using email, simply by splitting them into smaller files. The recipient will then be able to put them back together as one large file. Here are some of the better ways:

  • HJSplit
HJSplit is freeware and you can download it here.

  • Simply extract your large file to a separate folder and launch HJSplit.
  • Click on the Split button and locate your large file. The program will now split that file into several segments and will name each one as an extension, such as .001,.002, etc.
  • These files can be sent over the email , the recipient can save them to a location of their choice – all in one folder – then download HJSplit for themselves.
  • They just need to select Join, select the folder where the segments are, select the first and last file, and it will put them back together as one file. HJSplit will work on all major operating systems.
